C is for . . . Cookie, you muppet.
This is not a post about party politics. I thought about it. And realised that my writing about politics would be about equivalent to my dancing about custard.
I am, however, more annoyed by party politics than I am about custard. I am especially annoyed that all the squabbling over who is going to get the biggest Genereal Erection in May, has been keeping important and unwelcome news stories hidden. I will hereby help right this wrong.
Over in the US, something indescribably wrong has happened. The world will never be the same again.

Aaah! I love it. I was more disturbed to find out the Cookie Monster's name was 'Sid'.
I think it would be more effective propganda if CM got obese and then died of obesity related injuries. THAT'D scare the kids off cookies real quick.

Obese puppets could create a whole new look for Big Bird. And any nutritional education programme could also benefit from a 'Fad Diet - Bad Diet' monster, with a 'Nip Tuck Muppet Special' presenting a balanced view of body image and self-confidence in light of the social stigma attached to excessive purple body fur.
At least the CM hasn't been renamed 'Sid the sometimes food not-really-a-monster' Monster. Yet.

I can imagine Cookie Monster now, telling the kids that "if you eat too many of these, you'll get big, and then nobody will want to know you. You should try sticking your fingers down your throat to make yourself more gorgeous."
To be honest, I always found Cookie Monster's table manners to be a perfectly adequate deterrent from the perils of those carbohydratey morsels. I guess American kids have different aspirations.

Everyone knows that Cookie Monster doesn't actually swallow his cookies. He just demolishes them in his mouth, sending cookie crumbs everywhere. He's on the ultimate diet- taste but no consumption.
